 Grace Park was born on March 6, 1979, in Los Angeles, California. When  she was 22 months old, her family moved to Canada. In 1992, Grace  graduated from Magee Secondary and went on to obtain a degree in  psychology from the University of Victoria. When Grace graduated from  college, she thought about getting into acting only for a year. She  started out in modeling, and her feature film debut came in 2000 with an  appearance as a dancer in Romeo Must Die. The action movie starred Jet  Li and the late Aaliyah. That same year, Grace landed the role of  Shannon Ng on the Canadian teen drama series, Edgemont. While working on  Edgemont, Grace also picked up guest appearances on a few short-lived  television shows. In 2000 and 2001, she accepted parts on The Immortal,  The Outer Limits and Dark Angel. Grace met Korean real estate developer  Phil Kim that same year and began a relationship with him. In 2002, she  returned to film and played the part of Charmaigne in L.A. Law: The  Movie. After an appearance on Stargate SG-1 (2002), Grace took a few  guest acting spots on the sci-fi series Jake 2.0 (2003). It was also in  2003 that she landed the part of pilot Lt. Sharon "Boomer" Valerii on  the television miniseries Battlestar Galactica, a remake of the 1978  series and film of the same name.
